Jammu, Dec 20: Instead of advocating the cause of student community, some self styled student leaders have reportedly been intimidating Jammu University authorities, to get their personal benefits fulfilled including jobs for kith and kin and to secure various types of contracts in the varsity.
Sources informed Early Times that since new Vice Chancellor RD Sharma has taken over the charge of the varsity, a group of self styled student leaders, very close to former VC Prof. MPS Isher have been raising various types of issues, only to intimidate new VC, who is reportedly very honest and has refused to knelt down before these vested interest leaders, who had succeed to manage a good relationship with former VC after adopting same type of tactics of launching protests.
Sources alleged that same group of self styled student leaders, associated with National Conference were very much frustrated by the straight forward approach of Prof. RD Sharma, who refused to give width to such leaders.
Sources alleged that these leaders are controlling and managing these protests just to take control on the new Vice Chancellor who is believed to be very pro-students, honest and against such so called political leaders unlike previous VC Prof MPS Isher who was in the hand of this group and used to be blackmailed by them.
The nefarious deigns of these so called leaders of can be gauged from the fact that these leaders used to threaten the Head of Departments of university except few ones, for their personal benefits if their demands were not fulfilled by HoDs and any other faculty member, they started launching protest by mobilizing their innocent students and scholars.
Some confidential sources further alleged that one the so called leader has already managed to secure a permanent job in varsity few months back by using his political power besides another had also managed a contractual job during the time of former VC MPS Isher.
"During the tenure of former VC, who was in the hands of these leaders, due to some unknown reasons, had conspired against the then HoD of Dogri department Prof Shiv Dev Singh Manhas and had also got removed Manhas by hatching a conspiracy of disappearance of answer sheets", sources alleged.
They further alleged that same leaders had planned to secure a seat in M.Phill course for his sister in Dogri Department who as a matter of fact was not fulfilling the criteria. "When HoD Shiv Dev Singh Manhas had refused to fulfill their demand of adjusting his sister, same leader threatened to remove him as VC was in their hands", sources alleged, adding that later this self styled student leader managed to secure M Phill seat for his sister with the help of former VC and also removed HoD from post.
Sources further alleged that circumstances in the Dogri department have been turning towards a situation wherein Prof. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas was likely to become HoD in department again.
"If Prof. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas will become HoD, the M.Phill pursuing sister of this student leader will not be get adjusted as Assistant Professor in department", sources said, alleged that the future plans of these leaders could be gauged from the fact that these student leaders have not leaving any stone unturned to stop Prof. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas to become HoD again.
Sources further alleged that another conspiracy was hatched few days back, and a scholar of Prof. Shiv Dev Singh Manhas was made a pawn of the entire game and a malicious campaign was once again launched against Prof. Shiv Dev Singh and VC.
"Instead of waiting for the CASH's report, these leaders have already made Prof. Shiv Dev Singh as culprit along with VC Prof. RD Sharma", sources alleged, adding that students and scholars were totally unaware of the nefarious designs of these leaders and some of their paid touts in Jammu University, who have been exploiting the emotions of students and befooling students as well as Chancellor of University.
"Same self styled student leaders were silent when Prof. MPS Isher was there but as he left the university, overnight a volcano of so called student problems erupted in the minds of these student leaders, who started a so called student friendly campaign, only for securing their vested interests", sources alleged. The height of the hooliganism of these two self styled student leaders could be gauged from the fact that to fulfill their wicked plan, they had not let conduct the interviews for the post of Professor in the Dogri department so that his favorite faculty may remained on the post of headship. |
