Vijaypur, Jan 10 : District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mubarak Singh convened a meeting to review the arrangements for Republic Day Celebrations.
According to press release, the arrangements being made by the different committees constituted earlier like Water Supply, Prize Distribution, Sanitation Committee, seating arrangement, sanitation, security and traffic arrangements, Water Supply, Illumination of Important Buildings were reviewed and discussed threadbare in the meeting. It was informed that Republic Day celebrations shall be held at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Ground, Kehli Mandi, Samba and National Flag hoisting ceremony shall take place at 9:55 AM followed by salute from various contingents drawn from police, Army, NCC, Ex-Serviceman, School Students etc. and cultural programme based on patriotic theme. The DDC directed the officers to ensure that the cultural programmes, besides the performance in March Past, Parade is presented in best possible manner so as celebrate the Republic Day in depicting manner. He also issued instructions to all the District/Sectoral Officers to ensure participation of all the officers and officials of their respective Departments in the celebration.
It was reiterated that all out efforts should be made by all the departments to celebrate this National Function with zeal and fervor. Later, the DDC also chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the celebration of National Voters Day on 25th of January. The arrangements being made by the different departments like Rural Development, Revenue, Education etc. were reviewed and discussed threadbare. The DDC directed all the officers present to work in coordination to make the celebration of National Voter's Day a successful event. He stressed for larger participation of all Educational Institutions and employees for taking active participation in celebration of National Voter's Day and to strengthen the democracy.
It was decided to organise celebration of function at polling Booth Level, Tehsil Level.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Vivek Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Inderjeet, ACR Sonu Pargal and Assistant Commissioner Development Pardeep Manhas.
