JAMMU, Jan 10: N. N. Vohra, Governor and the President of Indian Red Cross Society,Jammu and Kashmir, inaugurated the 'Red Cross Mela' at Gulshan Ground,Jammu.
Usha Vohra, the First Lady was present on the occasion.
The First Lady and the Governor visited the stalls put up at the venue by a large number of Governmental and Private Organizations. They showed interest in the products being displayed and interacted with the students, officers, and others who were managing the stalls.
The participating organizations in the 'Mela' included India Air Force, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Jammu & Kashmir Police, State Government departments of Handicrafts and Horticulture, Government Degree Colleges of the region and others.
On the occasion a very colourful cultural programme, including dances of different regions of the country, was presented by the students of various educational institutions.
Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner Jammu (Chairman Indian Red Cross Society-Jammu Region); Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Jammu; and Ms. Roma Wani, Honorary General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu and Kashmir were among those present on the occasion. |
