GCW organizes programme on Importance of Balanced Diet among Adolescent Girls' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 17: Government College for women Parade, Jammu organized programme on 'Importance of Balanced Diet among Adolescent Girls' on the National Dietetics day, 2015 in collaboration with Indian Dietetics Association, J&K Chapter. According to press release, Principal Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, was the Chief Guest and Nutritionist and Dietition Dr. Vasanta Kohli was the Resource person on the occasion. The session started with a welcome speech by HOD PG Home Science Dr. Aruna Dubey apprised the students about the Indian Dietetics Day week celebration and the objectives set by Indian Dietetics Association for the year. Dr. Vasanta Kohli gave a lecture on "Nourishing the girl child in adolescent years" in which she spoke about the different macro and micro nutrients required during the adolescence, with special reference to girls. Priyanka and Sapna Sharma presented an animation film regarding the importance of Balanced Diet in Adolescent Years. Dr. Shruti and Dr. Nancy gave a presentation on "Power of Nutrition in the Adolescent Years of a Girl". The students' participants interacted with the resource person and cleared their doubts. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Nidhi Kotwal Associate Professor in PG Home Science. The programme was compared by Satinder Kour. |
