Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 27: Surprising it may sound, but the fact is that though riding on Kashmiri Pandits' exodus from valley being it's one of the political agenda before elections in state, the Bhartiya Janta Party either seems to have lost the track of the community or has deliberately ignored it.
Come March 1, the D-day for BJP-PDP combine government formation in the state, none of the soul from the community is representing anywhere.
This has obviously sent a gesticulating annoyance among the community which once again feels cheated by the party which they said had supported as the nationalist cadre pursuing the agony of the communities in despair in Jammu and Kashmir.
It is pertinent to mention here that though BJP is been alleged to have dubbed many critical matters pertaining to the aspirations of the people of Jammu for power sharing in the state, Kashmiri pundits feel that it has also wished away from the bounty of assurances to the community in the past.
"There is nothing as such that party has lost its track from any issue. All Jammu issues are live and would be taken care of as per the time and requirement. As far as representation to any community candidate, it is not in the purview of state cadre which is looked after by high Command only," said one of the elected BJP MLA and a probable minister in Mufti-Modi government on March 1.
However, while there is resentment amongst the class over the denial to its any candidate in the representation, the political grapevine has something else in store to say.
The political observers feel that it was nonchalance from the migrated KPs to vote in the state assembly that failed to raise any of its men to the stature required for representation.
They feel that Kashmiri pundits did not care to exercise franchise in toto, which could have even raised the tally of votes cast to the candidates in valley.
Negating the claim, Ashwin Tickoo, 25, a law graduate at Jagti camp says that the claim generated by the political analysts over KPs having failed to vote in the assembly elections was wrong perception.
They loaded the onus on the administrative failure in procuring the KPs with the postal ballot and the M-Form and leaving them in lurch.
"It was government's self designed strategy not to streamline the process enabling the migrated KPs to vote easily. Elders and young both remained running from pillar to post to procure their forms so that they could have cast their franchise," he said.
The KP community however put it to hypothetical analysis of the issue bit express its sourness over BJP's ignorance towards the community.
" had one of our representative included into the governance , it would have made a great difference as well as clinical understanding of the problems of the community by the government in state as well as centre about the challenges faced by the people in exile ," said Rajinder Mattoo, 32 , graphics designer with a private company.
