| Sharp differences in State BJP come to fore | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 8: Sharp differences have cropped up in State Unit of BJP with senior leaders on their way to have one upmanship over each other. According to sources the Party leaders and ministers are on a serious mission to cut each other to size and have their monopoly in the Party since the formation of coalition government in the State. Sources said while some senior ministers have succeeded in appointing their close aids and relatives as heads of various boards and corporations while others are in race to push their men ahead to head the remaining boards and corporations in the State, sharp difference are cropping up in BJP as the deserving and loyalists are being ignored by a section of senior leaders and ministers who have some say in the State. They added that a senior BJP leader and Minister who was in race for the Deputy Chief Minister's post is facing stiff opposition within Party circles with a senior minister and Party leader having proximity with the Central leadership wants to cut the Minister to size by proposing appointment of his arch rival and former MLA to the post of vice chairman of SC Development Corporation. Sources said the name of the former MLA has been submitted in a penal to Party high Command for approval in a list of four candidates for the post. While the other three candidates are also trying their hard to get selected to the coveted post but the senior minister in the coalition who has a say in Party circles at Delhi and who is also closely linked to Sangh Parivar is strongly pleading the name of former MLA to cut his arch rival to size. Sources said the former MLA is already enjoying the support of former Party president and MP and with the open support of the senior Minister figuring number two in the coalition his appointment as the vice chairman to the Corporation or the Board has become almost certain. Sources said besides the former MLA, some more prominent leaders of SC community of the party are in race and two among them also enjoy the support of senior leaders in the State and New Delhi. However the senior minister being very close to the Party high Command in Union Capital and RSS lobby at Delhi and in the State the appointment of the former MLA is certain and sure while the other three SC leaders have toe at an humble pie. Sources said, besides some BJP leaders are also in the race for Party State president's post the elections to which are likely to be held soon as the present president is unable to give party whole time after his election to Lok Sabha. Sources aid four names are making rounds in the Party and they included Yudhvir Sethi who is incharge of Party for Jammu -Poonch Constituency, Sat Sharma, CA, MLA and senior Party leader Chander Mohan Sharma. Besides BJP, Kissan Morcha state president Karan Singh who was earlier in the race for appointment as president of Kissan Board is all set to be elected as Party general secretary in view of his selfless services to the party over the years. |
