| Had no tears for 2010 victims | | Sagar weeps for Jammu boy | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 7: Former Minister and J&K National Conference general secretary, Ali Mohammad Sagar has said while taking a dig at PDP-BJP Government for distributing cheques of Rs 37, Rs 47 and Rs 94 accused the government of regional bias and promoting communalism. He was flanked by NC Provincial President for Jammu, Devender Singh Rana while addressing media persons. While the government spokesman can better explain the compensation given to the aggrieved farmers, Mufti Sayeed cannot be accused of nurturing communal tendencies. He cannot even be accused of promoting regional bias. On the contrary, regional bias was promoted by Omar Abdullah while speaking in Parliament in October 2010. Omar said not an inch of land shall be given to the Shrine Board. This comment brought the state to the point of breaking down. The wedge between Jammu and Kashmir regions widened after this comment and to this day the wounds caused by this speech have not healed. Sagar shed tears over the killing of a youth in Jammu recently but he had no sympathies to offer to the parents of 130 school going children who got killed in 2010 when Omar was the Chief Minister and Sagar the Law Minister. His government rejected repeated pleas of aggrieved parents to probe the killings. |
