After FIR, police tight spots him by seeking 'specimen checking' with original complaints | RDS&LR lands in hot soup | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: Weather seemingly turned rough for Regional Director Survey & Land Records (RDS&LR) Jammu who allegedly is on all out efforts to save himself from police's noose which has geared-up the investigation and reportedly have sought original copies of the various complaints lodged to Divisional Commissioner wherein allegations were leveled against the then SSP Vigilance. Police sources stated that Domana Police after lodging of FIR in much hyped 'impersonation case' against Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Regional Director Survey and Land Records (RDS&LR) following the inquiry conducted by SP Rural have sought original copies of complaints lodged by Shavan to match the specimens of the complaints. Police have today registered a case against Regional Director Survey and Land Records for allegedly filing fake complaints against the then SSP Vigilance on pseudo/fake names. Pertinently, the complaint, then SSP vigilance Koushal Kumar in his complaint alleged that during his posting as SSP vigilance which was very sensitive posting and large number of corrupt officers and public servants including the above said officer were very uncomfortable with the working of the complainant. Complainant the then SSP Vigilance further has alleged in the complaint that the Regional Director and Land Records, Mr Shavan entered into altercation with him on one occasion and has threatened him of dire consequences. And with an aim to tarnish his (SSP's) image, under well planned conspiracy, the accused started dashing pseudo/fake complaints against the then SSP Vigilance to Governor, Chief Minister, State Vigilance Commissioner Home Department etc. It was further alleged that during course of inquiry conducted by SP Rural Jammu in one of the complaint purportedly lodged by one Mohan Singh s/o Sewa Singh of Raipur Domana was found that no such person under name and address residing in the area which apparently made the vested interests behind the complaints. "Surprisingly, the signatures on the above said complaint were identical/similar to the signatures of Rajesh Kumar Shavan, Regional Director Survey and Land Records, who had signed various complaints just not only to malign and tarnish the image of the then SSP Vigilance in department as well in society but also emitted serious offences on the impersonation, police sources said. They added that following the complaint, Domana Police had lodged a case under FIR no 229/16 under u/s 419 of RPC against Rajesh Kumar, Regional Director Survey and Land Records and further investigations are on. |
