| Gunmen kill cop, civilian in Kulgam | | 2 critically wounded | |

Srinagar, Aug 12: A police constable and a civilian were killed on the spot this evening when suspected militants opened fire in Chandsar, Tawalgam area of district Kulgam in south Kashmir, police and reports said.
Reports said two bike-borne militants appeared at main square in the Chandsar area at around 9:30 PM -killing constable Manzoor Ahmed and civilian Farooq Ahmed on the spot.
The other two wounded in the incident were rushed to Srinagar for specialized treatment when this report was being filed.
Their condition is believed to be critical.
Reports said it was fourth attack on the constable. He had survived previous three attacks by militants.
The militants, as per reports, fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
Meanwhile, in another incident this evening a youth sustained injures in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir. He was also rushed to Srinagar for treatment.
