Early Times Report srinagar, Aug 26: Without the consent of their mentor, strong desire for getting suitably accommodated in the organization and unprecedented delay in the same, have driven some Azad loyalists to do a balancing act with incumbent PCC president G A Mir. Notwithstanding the disliking of Ghulam Nabi Azad for G A Mir, around a dozen of his known loyalists are learnt to have established good contact with the PCC president and expressed their desire to work under his leadership. According to the sources in Congress circles, these Congressmen have shifted their loyalty towards G A Mir in view of unprecedented delay in their suitable accommodation in the PCC or as district president, which was assured to get done by Azad through his intervention. These aspirants include Ashok Sharma, Vinod Mishra, Subash Sharma, Maheshwar Singh, Arun Sharma, Sakeel Shah, Brijmohan Sharma, Hari Singh, R S Chib, Dr Manohar Lal, and others, who are part of the dissident group in the Congress party. Since the sole objective of dissident group was to get its members accommodated in the PCC or proposed district bodies, which was even agreed by G A Mir for a patch-up with them, the unprecedented delay in the nominations has frustrated some members who feel that their adjustment was possibly only by PCC president and hence he must be kept in good humour, sources explained. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand is also learnt to be instrumental in encouraging these dissidents to extend their closeness with Mir thus trying his best to make die hard Azad loyalist MLC Jugal Kishore a little bit uncomfortable. However, on the other hand, Azad has not given his reaction to anyone in this regard and even asked Jugal Kishore to maintain wait and watch policy for assessing loyalty of his group members, including Tara Chand, sources said. |
