JAMMU, Aug 29: Given the peaceful conduct of written test for the posts of Medical Officer and Medical Officer (Ayurvedic) in restive Kashmir valley, the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) is likely to conduct more tests for already advertised posts in September.
Moreover the stalled process of interviews for Assistant Professors' posts for colleges, may be delayed further while as the written tests for Plus-2 lecturers' posts may be conducted soon, if situations remained peaceful.
Sources in JKPSC informed Early Times that 84 percent attendance was recorded in the written tests for the posts of Medical officers on Monday in valley, which was normal. "During peaceful conditions also, the maximum percentage of candidates appearing in these tests has been almost 80 percent but in today's exam, attendance was 84 percent which was above normal", sources pleading anonymity said.
They further informed that the situation was peaceful in valley in if it persisted during coming days, more written tests would be conducted.
"The priority of Commission will be to conduct the written tests for the posts of Plus-2 lecturers and interviews for the posts of Medical officers", sources said, adding that the pending interview process for posts of Assistant Professors for colleges could be further delayed.
The experts selected to conduct the interviews for college Assistant Professors' posts are not willing to visit valley for conducting the interviews. The interview process for College professor posts will take more than 15 days, while the interviews for the posts of Medical officers will take only 5-6 days, so the Commission's priority will be to conduct interviews for medical officers and written test for Plus-2 posts", sources said.
Sources further said that the date for conducting the preliminary tests for the posts of Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) would only be decided after normalcy returned to valley. "After internet services are fully restored across state, the aspiring candidates will be given some time to fill the forms, after which the decision on preliminary test will be taken", sources said.
