The 7-km-long road has been in a dilapidated condition since long but PWD sub-division, Mendhar, has been showing a lackadaisical attitude to repair it for the smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians. The road has developed ditches and pot holes at many places, making the journey in vehicles treacherous and risky. The school going children and patients, besides general public, also face a lot of difficulties, sources said. "At many places, the road has been encroached upon by some people which also adds to the woes of the people," the sources added. People of Gohlad alleged that they had also called on the XEn and AEE several times, but they also took no step to mitigate their sufferings.
