ASHA alleges 'apathy and discrimination for AYUSH' in J&K. | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 2: Ayurvedic Society for Health Awareness (ASHA), a non-governmental organization held meeting in which they discussed various issues pertaining to Ayurveda in the state. According to press release, the office bearers of the organization alleged that the incumbent government discriminating with AYUSH despite necessary impetus provided by the Union government. The meeting was attended by Dr T R Gupta, Er.S K Gupta,Er.B K Kohali,Er Ashok Kaul besides Dr. H N Patwari and Er. Vikram Gour -President and Patron respectively. In a resolution passed by, ASHA has appreciated Modi govt for its decision to establish independent ministry for the meaningful and purposeful propagation of Ayurveda along with declaring 'Dhanwantri Jayanti' as National Ayurveda Day. "It was felt while central govt is providing all necessary impetus for the practice and perception of Ayurveda in the country, Jammu and Kashmir govt is exhibiting apathy and discrimination for Ayush in the state", they added. They further said that despite separate directorate since last 29 years, ISM department was in its miserable existence symbolizing administrative inertia and stagnation. ASHA has impressed upon state government that immediate bifurcation of state level directorate and establishment of provincial directorates as recommended by State Finance Commission. Improvisation of infra structure which has remained stagnant since last 35 years and regularization of 74- non-sanctioned dispensaries and 22- Ayush units functioning in various Allopathic institutions. |
