Thanamandi tesil office, residential complex develops cracks 11/8/2016 10:10:19 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Nov 8: Officials of department of Road & Buildings today evening rushed to Thanamndi town after the residential-cum-office complex of tehsil Thanamandi administration developed cracks during last 3-4 days. After the building developed some cracks , Iftkhar Talib, SDPO immediately contacted the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) at Rajouri. On the direction from the Executive Engineer, Javed Choudhry , AEE, R&B, Shahdra Shrief rushed to Thanamandi for on the spot inspection of the building. "After inspection the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) has advised the tehsil officials including SDPO, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Munsiff Judge and SHO to vacate the building immediately to another safer building in the town" said a source. Source added that all the senior officers residing in the building have come out of their residences as beam of one of the room has developed dangerous cracks. "The building has developed cracks at various floors and it has been advised to vacate the building before any mishap took place" said Ashwani kumar, SDM, Thanamandi who was on way to Jammu. Iftikhar Talib, SDPO, Manzzor Khan, Munsif , Ashwani Sharmna, SDM, Surinder Kudyal, SHO and other senior officers have their residence and offices in this building situated in the heart of the town. The building is very old and, according to R&B Engineers, it has been sinking slowly. The town (tehsil HQs) neither has no other building where these officers can be shifted temporarily nor there was any plan to construct residential quarters, said a senior officer. "Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) concerned has rushed two Junior Engineers to Thanamandi today to check the building. No official report/ direction have been received till tonight and still building has not been declared unsafe officially.
