Anantnag, Dec 23: Vindicating the ET report that whistleblower Range officer was transferred for waging war against 'Timber Smugglers', Chief Conservator of Forests (Central), S F A Gilani Friday said that he hadn't received any complaint against the officer.
"We will encourage those officers who will work hard and why should we victimize anyone. As such there is nothing against this (Mushtaq Ahmad Mir-Range Officer Kuthar) officer," S F A Gilani, who yesterday transferred the Range officer, told Early Times on Friday.
He further vindicated the report by saying that he received orders of shifting the officer from concerned Minister. "Indeed it is premature transfer but we haven't punished him by attaching. "I was posted in Demarcation Division Srinagar where I demarcated forest boundary of 243 kms and renovated 800 demarcation pillars which irritated political people and mafia and within short span of time was transferred to Verinag," Mir yesterday told ET.
He said that he was allowed to work in Verinag Range just for 28 days and was again transferred to Khuhmama Range were I retrieved 100 kanals of encroached forest land in two compartments (12 and 13)
"After ten months, I was transferred to Ningli Range from Khuhmama Range. Just after ten days I was again transferred to Kuthar Range and now after 45 days I am again transferred," Mir narrated his ordeal yesterday.
