Poonch, Mar 13: In a bizarre a traffic cop helped a motor cyclist to flee the spot after hitting a middle aged woman in Mendhar town here today . Source said a 53 years old woman Safeera Begum W/o Azim Ahmed of Kalaban had come with some work to Mendhar. A biker instantly hit her and she fell unconscious on the road while the biker too fell down on the road was helped by a traffic cop on duty Rukhsar Hussain Shah got his bike up and allowed him to flee the spot. People and Shopkeeper present in the town were perplexed to see the act of traffic cop who did not bothered to help the injured woman who was lying unconscious on the road. Meanwhile a police official who was returning home from the duty along with other locals helped the injured woman to get admitted in Sub Division hospital Mendhar under MRD No: 24902. She was responding the treatment in the hospital Source said
Locals have expressed their resentment against the traffic police and urged higher ups in the department to book the traffic cop under relevant law. They further demanded registration of FIR in the case and trace out the accused biker who ran away after hitting the woman with the help of traffic cop. |
