| Plus 2 Lecturers hails Govt's decision of teachers’ detachment | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Apr 15: The monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers' Forum, was held at Udhampur today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, the District President of the Forum. The speakers hailed the decision of the School Education Department to detach all employees attached in other Departments and demanded that the said order be strictly implemented. They said that it will go a long way in improving the standard of education in the state and said that all attachments in the School Education be also cancelled and teaching staff be rationalized on the basis of strength and need of schools. They also expressed their resentment over the order issued by SDM Mahore and published in an English daily, in which he has directed all Patwaris to inspect schools on his behalf for necessary action against absent teachers. They said that absenteeism is a chronic problem and it cannot be justified but why single out only teachers. They said as and when raids are conducted by senior officers to check absenteeism, not only the school staff but employees of other Departments are also found absent. Then why they are not brought under the purview of such orders and only the dignity of teachers is questioned..They said that the School Education Department has its own mechanism to ensure punctuality and already committees of Senior Officers of the Department at Zonal, District and provincial level are in vogue and doing commendable job in ensuring regularity and punctuality of all the employees of the Department. |
