| Omar demands stern action against Jammu Bar chief | | Biased Approach | | RB Suri | 4/16/2018 12:09:53 AM |
| | The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah is totally wrong and biased in demanding a stern action under law of the land against the J&K High Court Bar Chief B.S.Salathia . He strongly pleaded, While addressing the media, that the State Government led by Mehbooba Mufti should take strong note of the activities of the Jammu Bar Chief B.S Salathia as he is creating the obstructions in the proper functioning of the courts in Jammu Division . He declared that Salathia's call for an agitation in Jammu region is totally uncalled for and baseless as the same according to him , is not in the interests of the communal harmony . Based on this , he wanted that Mehbooba Mufti should detain him for spreading the hatered ness among the different communities . Instead of demanding the action against Salathia , he is required to introspect his past and recollect his memories , several times , on record that Kashmir Bar led many a agitations during his time as the Chief Minister of the state , at that time , he never demanded the action against any Chief of Kashmir Bar which is highly deplorable . A very relevant question arises as to why he , that time, not acted swiftly in taking the requisite action against the Kashmir Bar Chief and other office bearers of the Kashmir Bar and why he kept mum and lethargic one ? He took the things half heartedly during his days of power 2008-2014 And why he closed his eyes and ears then ? Since he is the head of a regional political party i.e. National Conference who ruled the state several times in the past or so. He and his party is Kashmir centric one and it is because this reason only, he demanded the action against B.S Salathia. By doing so , he has challenged the Jammuites for not siding with the Bar Chief Bhupinder Singh Salathia who is a leading lawyer of the J&K high Court . Exploiting the Jammu people for the political purposes, his eyes are on the 'Vote Bank' of Kashmir valley as they are Kashmir centric totally . This is totally unbecoming on his part as the state political leader who ruled the state once as the Chief Minister after Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and Ghilam Nabi Azad . It is pertinent to mention here that many a times in the past Kashmir Bar jumped into the fray against the Government of India even during his time also as the Chief Minister . At that time, when the lawyers of the valley as also the Kashmir Bar Chief spoke against Indian integrity and sovereignty and had demanded for Azadi , where was he? At the same time, then where was his 'DARD' for India - Mera Desh . When the Kashmiris as a whole spoke venom against India why goes under a long sleep. Indirectly he, too supported them along with the separatists and the outfits. His father Dr. Farooq Abdullah ( MP) many a times, has made unwanted statements which pinches the Government of India and the countryman at large . This does not mean that he be taken to task and arrested . This is the actual freedom he is enjoying in this parliamentary democracy in the country . Dr. Farooq Abdullah ( MP) is habitual of changing his statements time adagain which gives the impression that he is not a balanced man . He always challenges the Government of India for taking the action according to his choice and wishes which does not appeal to the Central Government at all . B.S Salathia is very much in his rights as he is a leading lawyer of the state and is spearheading the movement of Jammuites these days against the inactions of the State Government . Why Omar is feeling so furiously against Salathia and his utterances . It is a serious matter for all of us as the Jammuites . Really Salathia is strongly pleading the Jammu cause for he is committed fully . While adopting the biased approach Omar Abdullah warned the State Government and sought for the legal action against B.S Salathia. Rather Omar has insulted the Jammu Bar and challenged for facing the consequences . He has soft corner for Kashmir Bar and rigid attitude against Jammu Bar .It is worth mentioning here that in the past J&K High Court Jammu Bar always remained victorious in getting their demands acceded by the respective governments in the state from time to time .Jammu agitation during Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah's time . Suraj Prakash Gupta President of the Bar led the agitation AIIMS agitation led by Abhinav Sharma President of the BarAmarnath Agitation-2008 led by Bar Association President B.S Salathia and Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti led by Leela Karan Sharma Darbar Move cancellation led by JCCI and Jammu Bar Association In the captioned agitations Jammu Bar fought well against the State Government and remained victorious . this goes to the credit of the J&K High Court Bar. This time again, J&K High Court Bar jumped into the fray and fighting against the governmental set up for the cause of Jammuites . The issues for which the present agitation is :- Deportation of Rohingyas / Bangldeshis , Removal of the illegal encroachments from the Forest land occupied by the tribals , CBI probe into Rassana rape and murder case . Now the J&K High Court Bar has taken the initiative in keeping the Jammuites aware about the Kashmir centric policies of the State Government and Bar declared that it would fight tooth and nail any matter which torpedo the Integrity and the sovereignty of the nation to the logical conclusion come what may . Member Advocates of the J&K High Court Bar come from the different political ideologies , they are all one but mar took the chance to divide them on the party lines which is highly deplorable. On the contrary,he and his father Dr. Farooq Abdullah sometimes don't remain on the same page . and differ usually. Omar is an in experienced politician and for the first time he is in opposition in the state .From all his actions and deeds , an inference may be drawn that he is winning the sympathies of Mehbooba Mufti thereby discarding the Jammuites totally as both the leaders are Kashmir centric as they don't want to see the unity of Jammuites as they (jammuites) always fought against the Kashmiri leadership with courage and determination. Omar may be expert in politics as he is to remain in politics for all times to come but one thing is certain that B.S Salathia being the leading lawyer of the state is well versed with the law of the land . He does not need any assistance and guidance from Omar for spearheading the ongoing agitation in Jammu Division where the lawyers across are on strike these and have suspended their work in the courts at Jammu , Bhaderwah , Doda, Kishtwar , Rajouri , Poonch , Samba , Kathua , Ramban and Udhampur . They ae protesting against the State Government and are holding the demonstrations outside the premises of the courts . |
