Stephen Public School celebrates Earth Day

Jammu, Apr 21: Earth day was celebrated with great fervour in Stephens Public School today. A special assembly was conducted on this special day. All the children were excited and enthusiastic. They were all geared up to create awareness on environment thus celebrating the occasion of Earth Day. The students were sensitized about the importance of saving environment during a special assembly addressed by the students followed by a dance performance which enthralled the on lookers, depicting the love for their Mother Earth.
It started with the speech by the host Children from classes 1 to 5 performed in different colorful attire. The main aim of the event was to motivate and spread awareness among the students on some of the ways to save Mother Earth. A Go-Green Activity was exhibited by the students. Children also performed nukkad natak to create awareness to save environment by planting more and more trees. "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the earth", That was the feeling in every heart for our Mother Earth. Earth Day is a time to remind us that we are borrowing the land we live on from generations to come. We are reminded that we cannot take the water we drink or the air we breathe for granted. The students were inspired to talk about how they can help to protect the environment. Present on the occasion were the Director of the School Satvinder Saini, Principal Manoj Kumar Agnihotri, Dean Academics Rama Jamwal.
