| DPS observes Press Freedom Day | | |  Early Times Report
Udhampur, May 8: Delhi Public School (DPS) observed Press Freedom Day and paid tribute to Journalists who have lost their lives in the exercise of their profession.
Students from classes V to XII participated whole heartedly and expressed their views through various activities held in Multi Purpose hall of school premises. Essay writing competition was held for classes IX to XII on this year's UNESCO theme-'The role of Media is sustainable development'. The theme also aims to explore media's role as watchdog during elections, fostering transparency and accountability. Juniors participated in the event through substantially designed activities such as paragraph writing and Article writing
Pro-Vice Chairman of the School, Dr.J.C.Gupta appreciated the students for their unprecedented innovative ideas. He addressed the students and paid tribute to media persons for their untiring contribution and suggested the students to follow their path of non-violence and discipline in freedom of expression and suggested to develop habit of newspaper reading as an initiative. Principal of the school, Dr.Kunal Anand exhorted the students to stand for truth and counter misinformation by selecting reliable news. |
