| Locals seek construction of 1460 meter Canal, payment of land | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, June 1: Locals registered strong protest and demanded complete construction work of 1460 meters canal at village Damak Tehsil Ramnagar and nonpayment of laborer in Construction of Canal.
Hundreds of people from the village Damak about 15 km in Ramnagar were protesting against Irrigation Sub Division Ramnagar and District Administration Udhampur for delaying the complete of 1460 meters canal work.
Locale Ex Sarpanch Sandhoor Singh said that slow progress of work and nonpayment of wages of laborers in the at village Damak in Rassain Tehsil Ramnagar District
That a Canal length 1460 meters in village Damak was sanctioned and its work was started in 2011 by Irrigation Sub Division Ramnagar Rs. 42.04 Lacs.
Only 800 meters of canal is constructed which by all standards is sub standard as 70-80% un-broken stones are and desi clay is being used rather than approved concrete material.
The ratio needs to be enquired and disciplinary action taken as Technical Staff is hardly seen at the site and only 20 meters of Canal is constructed this financial year.
Locals has brought this fact into the notice of Irrigation Department Ramnagar but no remedial steps have been taken which is a matter of concern. |
