Early Times Report
Jammu, June 1: Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VoK) produced Charge Sheet (Challan) against Farooq Ahmad Shah, the then Custodian Officer Trade Facilitation Centre Salamabad Uri, before the Special Judge Anti-Corruption Court, Baramulla in Case FIR 01/2017 u/s 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2)J&K P.C Act. Svt-2006, Section 4-A Prevention of corruption (Amendment) Act, 2014.
The instant case was registered in P/S VoK on the basis of a written complaint lodged by one Naseer Ahmad Dar, a businessman dealing in Cross LoC Trade. The businessman alleged that while dealing in Cross LoC trade via Salamabad Uri to Muzaffarabad which included trade of textiles, etc, the Custodian at Trade Facilitation Centre namely, Farooq Ahmad Shah unnecessarily detained his 06 load carrier trucks and started demanding bribe of Rs. 50,000/-. The officer further did not allow his trucks to cross the LoC and instead threatened to cancel his registration. It was after this the complainant approached the Vigilance organisation and the sleuths of VoK were successful in laying a trap on 04-01-2017 in which the said accused Farooq Ahmad Shah was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant.
