Vigilance books four persons on corruption charges

Jammu, June 1: Vigilance Organization registered a formal case against revenue officers /officials namely Tarsem Lal then Tehsildar Kalakote, Ajaz Ahmed Malik then Patwari halqa Teryath and then Inspector(S) Balkrishan Sharma (now DySP) and his wife Oma Devi vide FIR No. 14/2018 u/s 5(1)(d) read with section 5(2) J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 at P/S VOJ on 31/05/ 2018.
The instant case was registered on the basis of enquiries conducted into the complaint lodged in the vigilance organization against Inspector (S) Balkrishan Sharma that he by misusing his official position, in connivance and criminal conspiracy with revenue officers/officials has managed illegal entry in the name of his wife Oma Devi in respect of state land falling under Khasra no 807 of village Keri Teryath.
During the course of verification, it was found that revenue officers/ officials of the relevant time attested mutations under LB6 and S432 with respect to the State land falling under Khasra No. 807 at village Keri, Teryath in favour of occupants in violations of the prescribed rules and norms.
It further surfaced during verification that said Balkrishan Sharma now DySP S/O Gian Chand Sharma R/o Keri, Teryath, then Inspector in J&K Police and posted as PA to SSP/DIG Rajouri in district Rajouri for 25 years under a well knit conspiracy hatched with then Tehsildar kalakote namely Tarsem Lal and then Patwari halqa Teryath namely Ajaz Ahmed Malik managed mutations no 885 and 886 dated 02.11.2012 of state land measuring 01 Kanal and 5 Marlas under Khasra No. 807 situated at village Keri Teryath, Rajouri in favour of his wife Oma Devi under the provisions of LB6 and S432, in clear violation to the rules and norms prescribed under law as Oma Devi was not in continuing possession of the said State land since Kharief 1957-58 which is a mandatory requirement for conferring ownership rights under said provisions.
