| 'Two transformers damaged within 12-hr, power cut makes life miserable' | | | Early Times Report
jAMMU, June 8: Annoyed over the indifferent and lackadaisical attitude of Power Development Department (PDD), State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan alleged that the electric transformer installed in New Rehari got damaged and PDD failed to restore the power supply by installing new transformer after 12 hours.
He held PDD responsible for making the life miserable during the hot and humid weather conditions.
"The transformer install after 12 hours long cut but the electricity crises is still continue in the area as the newly installed transformer burnt within 30 minute after installation," he said.
He questioned that why PDD officials played with the sentiments of residents by installing old and Chinese transformer after 12 hours long cut in the locality.
It seems the PDP-BJP Government has not comprehended the public sentiments that got revealed during the recent elections," Rajiv said.
"Complacency and casual attitude of the official machinery have to be a thing of the past and responsive and accountable conduct has to be adopted," he added.
Contrary to the claims of the power minister Sunil Sharma that regular power will be supplied, he said, the PDD is resorting to one hour power cut every two hours.
"When the government is so particular in enforcing laws and rules on people, how can it deny the right of 24X7 power supply to us while we regularly pay the bills" he said.
The deepening power crisis is also adversely affecting water supply in the area, he said. |
