DyCM reviews RADMS developed by MVD

srinagar, June 14: Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today reviewed the Road Accident Data Management System (RADMS) being developed by the Motor Vehicles Department.
Transport Commissioner J&K Saugat Biswas and developers from NIELIT gave a detailed presentation on the RADMS.
Road Accident Data Management System (RADMS) is being developed by MVD which will do a real time tracking and reporting of all road accidents in the state. It was informed that NIELIT has been given the task to develop the RADMS which will be operated through a mobile android/iOS interface. This application will be made available with the field police and Motor Vehicle Inspectors from where on-spot reports will be registered and authenticated.
The extensive data feeding will be done on the system in addition to the field reports; the Transport Commissioner informed the Deputy Chief Minister who is also holding the charge of Transport Department.
He further informed that RADMS will help the various stakeholders in the government, be it the MVD, Traffic Police, R&B, NHAI and Health department to utilize the data regarding accidents, which will further help in identification of black spots for subsequent rectification.
'RADMS with its more than 160 reports will help in scientific analysis of the cases of accidents for redressal by the various stakeholders', he added.
Discussing the use of RADMS, the Deputy Chief Minister said that this initiative would surely be prove beneficial to save the lives of people in the road accidents by reaching to them with medical aid and other kind of help well in time. He further said that the reports generated from the accident spots using all minute details would also help in identification of black spots and getting all the things causing accidents rectified.
"Use of technology in today's world is very common and MVD should also adopt latest technological advancements to put a check on increasing road accidents to further save the human lives", Kavinder said.
Transport Commissioner informed the Deputy Chief Minister that developers from NIELIT are at the final stage of developing the RADMS application and soon it will be launch in the state.
