| EAF demands relocation of Gas Stations from populace place | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 16: Environment Awareness Forum expressed its deep concern over the manner Gas Stations are being allowed to operate in the state , endangering the lives and property around . President Bhushan Lal Primoo demanded immediate relocate these Gas Stations from the localities which are serious threat to humans Animals and property. He request the Chief Secretary to the government J&K Government to call for a factual report from Respective Divisional Commissioners under whose jurisdiction these falls so as to avoid catastrophe .It is a mandatory duty of the District Development Commissioners who are licensing authority to took stock of the site besides never supposed to do have got routine check whether Gas Station owners/operators adhere to the laid down norms after all it is lives a precious lives and property is at risk., EAF conducted random check found utter violation of the laid down norms which has to be taken. No adequate Fire fighting system, no water stored to combat fire, no Sand stock , mandatory to keep. Besides some of Gas Station are in highly dence habitation which is against norms. ait is the mandatory responsibility of the authorities, to ensure safety of the inhabitants as per law and constitution. It has been alleged that departments are soft for oblivious reasons other before their very eyes it happen. |
