Shaheedi Divas of Guru Arjan Dev Ji celebrated with fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, June 16: On the eve of Martyr's day of Sahib Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj an impressive Kirtan Darbar was organized at Gurudwara Baba Chanda Singh Ji, Jain Bazar, Jammu by the Management Committee Gurdwara Baba Chanda Singh Ji Jain Bazar Jammu and Nirvair Social organization which was celebrated with gaiety and religious fervor.
Sangat from surrounding areas of Jammu city reached Gurudwara Sahib for listening the Kirtan Darbar. The Citizens from all walks also attended the kirtan Darbar. On the occasion the Guru ka langar and CHABIL (Cold Water) was distributed amongst the sangat. Moreover two stalls of langar and Cold Water (Chabil Water ) was also distributed among the public in general .
Bhai Sahib Bhai Ranjeet Singh Ji and Jatha, Bhai Sahib Tirath Singh Ji, & Bibi Nirmal Kour of recited the Kirtan and highlights the biography of Guru Sahib,
While speaking on the occasion S. Sukhbir Singh appealed the State Government for declaring the name of Kunjwani Chowk as BABA BANDA SINGH BHAHDUR CHOWK. They added that the Shops of Municipal Committee in Chand Nagar be removed and relocated to other site, as the shops are falling in the precincts of Histrocial Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Chand Nagar Jammu
They further demanded that Govt should immediately appoint Punjabi Teachers in School/Colleges. Sangat. He added that any article and books written by authors, CBSE,J&K State Board of school Education and other authorities on Sikh history be got approved from the Dharam Parchar Committee Sri Akal Takth Sahib, Sri Amritsar Sahib and the word "After the death of Guru Gobind Singh jee be removed from all books. Govt should declare the Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Jee Chand Nagar as Historical place and put them on Tourist map and Dera Baba Banda Singh Bahadur be declare as historical and the shops of Municipal Committee in Chand Nagar falling in the precincts of Historical Gurdwara Guru Nanak Dev Jee be shifted to another alternate site. Government should implement Anand Marriage Act. Extension of route of Sachkhand Express train to Jammu for the benefit of Sikh devotees. They appealed to the Government of Punjab to immediately take action against the persons involved in the discretion of Sri guru Granth Sahib jee
While S. Manjeet Singh Azad, Istri Kirtan Satsang Sabha appreciated the work of Management Committee Gurudwara Baba Chanda Singh for celebrating the Guruparabs and renovation of the Gurudwara sahib.
