Shaheed Aurangzeb Amar Rahe', Army Jawan Who Was Martyred by Terrorists Laid to Rest in Poonch

Poonch, June 16: The last rites of Rifleman Aurangzeb, who was abducted and Martyred by terrorists on June 14 were held in Poonch village on Saturday. The army jawan was laid to rest with full state honours at his native village. Thousands of mourners raised slogans of 'Shaheed Aurangzeb amar rahe' at his last rites ceremony.
Earlier in the day, mortal remains of Aurangzeb was brought to Poonch in Rajouri district for his last rites. His body was flown from 92 Base Hospital located at the 15 Corps at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar.
The Indian Army on Friday paid floral tribute to rifleman Aurangzeb. "Aurangzeb sustained multiple bullet injuries in a dastardly act wherein he was kidnapped and killed by the terrorists in Gasu village of Pulwama enroute his home on leave to celebrate Eid with his family, the official said.
Aurangzeb was abducted and killed by militants in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The soldier, belonging to 44 Rashtriya Rifles, had boarded a private vehicle to reach Shopian where from he was supposed to go to his home in Rajouri district for Eid celebrations. When their vehicle reached Kalampora, a few terrorists stopped the vehicle and kidnapped Aurangzeb. His body was found in Pulwama district.
The soldier was reportedly part of the army team that had killed top Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Sameer Tiger, on April 30. Hailing from village Salani in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, 24-year-old Aurangzeb joined the Army in 2012. He is survived by his wife, parents and three brothers.
