Preparations for dumping PDP started after Lal Singh's meeting with Amit Shah on May 28

Early Times Report

JAMMU, July 9: Preparations of withdrawing support to Mehbooba Mufti government in the state were started after meeting of BJP leader and former forest minister Choudhary Lal Singh with BJP national president Amit Shah at Delhi on May 28.
Although decision to withdraw support was taken on June 19, Amit Shah had made up his mind after getting some clinching evidences from Lal Singh about communal and anti-Jammu agenda of PDP leadership.
Credible sources in the corridors of powers said that Choudhary Lal Singh had provided with "authentic proofs" to Amit Shah to revealed dangerous game-plan of PDP leadership in general and ministers in particular. Singh, who was forced to resign as Forest Minister on April 13 for supporting CBI probe into Rassana incident, handed over official documents which were issued by the PDP leadership to put Jammu on fire by creating communal divide.
Sources said that instead of believing on the clinching evidences handed over Choudhary Lal Singh, BJP national president took services of independent agencies to get authentic feedback and it was only after these allegations were substantiated Amit Shah discussed all the issues with some important people and ultimately it was decided to withdraw support of the PDP government to save Jammu from divisive agenda of the PDP.
As reported earlier, Lal Singh along with the newly appointed BJP president Ravinder Raina had met Amit Shah at Delhi on May 28 and briefed him about the surge in support of CBI probe into the incident.
Amit Shah had called Lal Singh to assuage his fears of being outside BJP fold. "The national president during the hour-long meeting endorsed Lal Singh's assertion that there was a conspiracy against Jammu and the CBI probe into the Rassana case was inevitable if the party wanted to retain the political clout it had earned in 2014 elections," Raina had told after the meeting.
Ever since his sacking from the cabinet, Lal Singh has been running a public campaign to press for the CBI probe into the Rasana incident.
Regarding the Shah-Singh meet in New Delhi a top BJP leader had claimed that time "Shah did not object to the activities of Singh and asked him to garner more support for party in Jammu. Now Singh will intensify his campaign for CBI probe. He has been given free hand to carry out activities. He can do what he wants. We cannot impose restrictions on his political activities."
