Revamp PSC, SSB: Harsh appeals Governor
7/12/2018 10:31:26 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 12: Hailing the termination of 27 political appointees of the erstwhile BJP-PDP govt as chairpersons/vice chairpersons of PSUs and Boards, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP today appealed the Governor to move a step further and to reconstitute the recruitment agencies of the state including PSC and SSB. With political considerations having weighed heavily in the constitution of the existing recruitment bodies as well by the previous political regime, their re-constitution had also become imperative. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
Pointing towards the multifarious protests and demonstrations held during the last three and a half years against the PSC and SSB, Mr. Singh said that the people in general and educated youth in particular seemed to have lost faith in the existing PSC and SSB.
The publication of almost every list by PSC in the past evoked immense criticism with educated youth taking to streets to ventilate their anger and disgust with such selections.
Several cases of bias and irregularities appeared in the media on almost day to day basis with none to take cognizance in the previous regime, lamented Harsh.
He said that the members of the said recruitment bodies having been nominated by the PDP and BJP, there was none to respond to shrill cries educated youth who alleged massive irregularities and violations of norms in almost all selections besides numerous complaints of favouritism and nepotism.
Harsh Dev Singh said that the youth of Jammu region faced the most hostile discrimination with their share having been abysmally reduced to an all time low during the BJP-PDP dispensation.
He said that with immensely marginalized Jammu youth, their negligible share in PSC selections became the main reason for student and youth unrest in Jammu.
