JAMMU, Aug 3: "Thinker's Club", an initiative by Johnny William, retired IGP, was launched here at KC Residency Hotel.
Speaking on the occasion, William said, it was an endeavour to establish an outlet, a platform where people with diverse backgrounds, great social contribution, times tested track record of commitment, integrity could assemble and have a dialogue, debate and discussion in an atmosphere of mutual respect and maturity when it comes to contradictory view's . He further said, Thinker's Club is a forum for introspection for vital issue's which impact society and reflect on measures that can be taken to eradicate the fault lines.
Thinker's club is apolitical movement to celebrate the democratic instinct of freedom of thought and speech. Ideologies and affiliations have no bearing. The simple idea is no strings attached. Just an outlet with freedom to speak, he added.
The first deliberation of the Thinker's Club was threadbare discussion on communal harmony. Very valuable inputs were shared by the members. The members who participated include former DGP MM Khajuria, former DGP Kuldeep Khoda and others. |
