Srinagar, Aug 3: As Garrison Engineer (GE) Air Force 1 Wing Srinagar who is also the Public Information Officer (PIO) at its Srinagar office failed to present himself before the State Information Commission (SIC) in Srinagar on Friday , the SIC has issued a fresh notice to the officer seeking his detailed explanation. The officer was summoned by SIC for failing to adhere to the provisions of State RTI Law. As reported already State Information Commission (SIC) vide its communication No : SIC/K/comp/23/2018 Dated 19/7/2018 had directed The PIO of Air Force CWE 1 Wing Air Srinagar to appear before the Commission on 3rd August 2018 for hearing of the complaint titled Rashed Ashraf Rather V/S D K Kostha GE AF 1 wing Srinagar.
The complaint had been filed by one Rashed Ashraf Rather who alleges that lot of bungling is taking place inside the Air Force station vis a vis hiring of non technical staff for various works especially the electrical engineering wing. Garrison Engineer (GE) Air Force 1 Wing Srinagar , had earlier disrespected Central RTI Act 2005 and after being grilled by his top officers had agreed even to share the information under Jammu & Kashmir RTI Act 2009. When the matter was to be heard at SIC Srinagar on Friday , the GE Air Force was not present at the Commission. Rashed Ashraf Rather the complainant along with his counsels had already came to commission early morning. Information Commissioner M A Mir took the matter very seriously and issued notice against the officer.
