| Couple dies of electrocution | | |

Mendhar, Aug 13: An old couple died of electrocution during heavy rains at Surankote area of Poonch district last night and bodies handed over to the family for last rites.
The deceased have been identified as Mureed Hussain (58) and his wife Najma B (55) of Chati Bhatti, Surankote.
As per SHO Surankote Mohammad Anzar Mir told that due to heavy rain in the area, couple died of electrocution while they trying to stop the flood water entering inside their house. Meanwhile a tree fell on the LT Wires which resulted both died of electrocution.
After getting information, SHO said that a police team rushed on the spot and duo were shifted nearby the hospital under unconscious condition and where doctors declared them dead.
The bodies were later handed over to the family for last rites after conducting all legal necessary formalities, he said. |
