Vomedh stages "Gharik Akhrajaat" in 6th episode of Terrace Theatre

JAMMU, Aug 13: Vomedh group added a new dimension to its ongoing Terrace Theatre series by staging the 6th episode of its innovative series 'Terrace Theatre" at a terrace in Muthi area to continue its mission of taking meaningful theatre to people's door steps, literally, and staged "Gharik Akhrajaat" on Sunday, a beautiful Kashmiri play written by Dazy Bazaz and directed by Jitender Jyotshi veteran theatre artists of the state.
The story of the play revolves around the daily life of an average household and its struggles of routine life and how it overcomes the difficult times and puts the life of tracks.
A drunkard gambler (Sohan Lal), beautifully portrayed by senior journalist and theatre artist King C Bharati lives a careless life spending out of the earnings of his wife (Seema Ji) portrayed very well by veteran artist Dazy Bazaz who works hard to sustain the expenditure of the household and the education of her two sons (Sahil) played by Ishu Bharati Pandit and (Sonu) played by Kosar Chandpuri.
Sohan Lal tries to drag his own sons into gambling but is caught red-handed by his wife which forces him to rethink on his wayward living and decides to work as a singer for marriages knowing that he has a beautiful voice.
He gets a job of singer in marriages from a Music group leader played by Ashish Bhat and earns some money but tries to dominate his wife. But when his sons get rusticated and humiliated from the school due to the wayward character of their father, Sohan Lal finally realizes his follies and apologizes for his behavior vowing to run his household as a responsible man. The play has lots of comic scenes very well played by King C Bharati as well as tragedy but ends on a positive note.
The audience appreciated the artists and the writer, director for beautifully presenting the real life characters and story of a common man.
