4 diagnostic laboratories sealed

Rajouri, Aug 16: Several complaints about fake doctors/ technicians operating unauthorised clinics / dental clinics and testing laboratories in border districts of Rajouri & Poonchand looting the poor people of their hard earned money, health/revenue teams raided several clinics in Rajouri, Manjakot and Mendhar towns.
In Rajouri the raids were conducted under the supervision of Dr Suresh Gupta, CMO on the directions from MA Asad, DDC and at Mendhar BMO conducted the raids.
"The raids were carried at 17 diagnostic/clinical laboratories at Rajouri and Manjakot towns on receiving complaints from various quarters about the functioning of unauthorised labs having non-qualified staff and giving faulty results of diagnostic tests thereby risking lives of patients" said Mohd Shafait, DIO.
He added during raids 4 clinical labs were found running without fulfilling the requisite norms under Nursing Homes and Clinical Establishment Act and were identified as Aftar Diagnostic Lab, Swastik Clinical Lab, both at Kheora (Rajouri), Sharma Clinical Lab near Abdullah bridge and Al -Shafa Diagnostic Centre Manjakote.
All these clinical/ diagnostic laboratories were sealed on the spot and action under rules was initiated.
To protect poor people / patients from falling prey to such fake medicos, Dr Parvaiz Ahmed, BMO, Mendhar in Poonch district swung into action and along with naib tehsildar (executive Magistrate)Taraf Hussain Shah sealed four such dental clinics and 3 private laboratories.
"All the sealed laboratories and dental clinics were violating the laid down guidelines and were operating without registration with State Pollution Control Board, not adopting the biomedical wastage norms and rate lists for various procedures / tests were also not displayed" said BMO.
The sealed clinics have been identified as Star Dental clinic, Advance Dental Health care, Alshifa dental clinic and St6ar One dental clinic while the laboratories were namely V. Care diagnostic Laboratory, Micron Clinical laboratory and Public diagnostic Laboratory.
