Div Com directs for formation of working groups to facilitate employment generation activities

JAMMU, Aug 24: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed implementation of employment generation schemes and policies in a meeting here today.
The meeting was attended by head of departments besides senior functionaries of several departments including Technical Education, Agriculture, Handicraft, Handloom, Employment, Social Welfare, Sericulture, JK Bank besides Principal, Polytechnic College and other officers.
The HoDs briefed the Div Com about several schemes run by their respective departments which includes employment generation and skill development programmes.
The meeting was also informed about various short term courses and long term skill development programmes for employment generation under ITI, Polytechnic, Pharmacy and others.
The Div Com directed for formation of working groups to facilitate and identify the activities under employment generation programmes. He asked the concerned departments to organize awareness and counseling camps for unemployed youth and directed for involving all stake holders during trainings, camps and workshops. He further directed them to identify master trainers to impart skill trainings among the young entrepreneurs.
The Div Com also stressed on the need for encouraging women into skill development trainings.
The Div Com called upon the concerned officers to work in synergy for effective implementation of the schemes. He further asked them to widen their public outreach programme under employment generation schemes so that maximum population can avail benefits. He asked the concerned officials to adopt a pragmatic approach in fulfilling the objectives of such schemes.
Later, in another meeting, the Div Com reviewed the functioning of various departments and took stock of the status of ongoing developmental works under various sectors. He entrusted upon the concerned functionaries to maintain physical and financial discipline of their respective departments.
Commissioner, JMC, Arvind Kotwal, Chief Engineer PHE, Ashok Gandotra, Director, School Education, Rakesh Srangal, Director, ULB, Rajinder Singh Tara besides senior functionaries of various departments attended the meeting
