Administration bids adieu to former Governor NN Vohra

SRINAGAR, Aug 24: Former Governor, N N Vohra was accorded warm send off by the State Administration at a modest farewell function organized at SKICC here this evening. Advisors to the Governor, B B Vyas and Khurshid Ahmed Ganai; Chief Secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam; Director General Police, Dr S P Vaid; Chairman, J&K SAC, Justice (Retd) Bashir Ahmad Khan; Chief Vigilance Commissioner, P L Gupta; Chairman, PSC, Latief-u-Zaman Deva; Vice Chancellor, SKUAST, Nazeer Ahmed Khan; Principal Secretary to Governor, Umang Narula, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan; Administrative Secretaries, large number of senior functionaries of Civil, Army, Police including Heads of Departments were present on the occasion. Advisor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai in his brief address hailed the great contribution of Mr. Vohra as Governor in the State and said that his decade long tenure will be remembered by the officers and people of Jammu and Kashmir for a long time as he worked hard for the development and welfare of the State. He narrated his own experiences while working with him, and said that he learnt a lot from Mr Vohra and described him a fatherly figure for the administration.
Mr. Ganai extended warm wishes for good health to the former Governor on behalf of the entire administration and people of the State. The dignitaries also presented mementoes to Mr. Vohra.
Mr. Vohra expressed gratitude to the entire administration and people of the State for their wholehearted support and affection during his tenure as Governor. He said, he is carrying along sweet memories and good wishes of the people of J&K and will always remember the love which he has got from one and all. He urged the officers to continue to serve the people of the State with renewed vigor for the betterment of the State.
The former Governor met all the guests personally and exchanged greetings.
