Kashmir politician left for England, landed in US
'We thought he has gone to meet his mother'

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 31: Even as he was supposed to lead the party during controversy surrounding Article 35 A, this senior politician from a regional party in the state pleaded before his colleagues that he would leave for England to meet his mother there. But to utter shock of everyone, he was seen holidaying in the United States instead.
Senior leaders of the party told Early Times that their "boss" told his colleagues that he wouldn't leave Kashmir at "critical juncture" but that he wanted to meet his mother and spend some time with her on Eid-ul-Azha.
"We all were of the opinion that he has gone to meet his mother and thus we shouldn't question his leaving the state when his presence was needed the most. But we suddenly got to know that he is in the US," said a NC leader.
As already reported by this newspaper, the politician was seen attending wedding of a Hindu family in the US.
Sources said even the father of this politician was shocked to see that his son has landed up in the US. "See everyone in the party is raising questions as to why he told a lie to everyone about his trip to US. What wrong it would have been, had he honestly told the party leadership about his exigency to attend the wedding in the US," said a senior leader of the party.
Sources said the party plans to seek a formal explanation from the leader for having "misguided them about his trips aboard".
Meanwhile the politician is understood to have returned from the US and is presently camping in a metropolitan city. "See he has resumed tweeting which means he is back in his homeland. Otherwise he would not tweet about Kashmir from the US when controversy surrounds his trip," his party workers said.
Despite repeated attempts the politician couldn't be contacted for his comments.
