Indian rupee on ventilator under Modi's regime : Dr Manohar
9/3/2018 10:00:39 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 3: Senior congress leader and former minister Dr. Manohar lal Sharma while addressing press expressed his deep concern on the falling value of Indian rupee in the international market. It is pertinent to mention here that Indian rupee has fallen all time low to 71 rupee against US Dollar.
Dr. Sharma said that it is very painful and heart burning moment for 135 billion Indians that our currency is facing grave downfall every day in comparison with US dollar. Our nation is already under burden of high unemployment and inflation and as such the fallen rupee value has further worsen the financial health of the nation. He said that the nation is already facing the wrath of high price rise of daily consumable items and now fallen rupee has further worsen the hopeless situation.
Dr Sharma said that instead of focusing on useless issues, BJP & its leadership should introspect its anti people policies and should come out with a corrective measure to deal with the situation. He further stated that such massive price hike of petrol @81/litre, diesel@72/litre and LPG@877/cylinder has broken the backbone of common men of the nation who have voted BJP with high hopes.
Dr. Sharma asked that why is it so that we are exporting petroleum products to other countries at low price but the same are available at skyhigh prices for the people of the country. It is merely a mockery of much hyped Achey din as now not only poor & middle class but also rich class is feeling the heat of this failed Govt. in the form of the price hike. He said that why we are purchasing petrol & diesel at high rates when the cost of crude oil is very low as compared to previous times.
Dr Sharma termed this inflation as self created problem of BJP govt. due to wrong tax policies by imposing excise duty many times more comparative to previous government .He said that BJP shall come out with an explanation for this self created price hike of petroleum products and other essential commodities otherwise time is not far away when mass level protest will start throughout the nation against this authoritarian attitude of the BJP govt. Dr . Sharma appealed all the intellectuals of the nation including generalists, column writers, to stand at all levels against the anti people policies of BJP Govt. which are not only damaging the economic health of the nation but also taking the nation back to dark ages.
