Baazigar! Kashmiri neta trying every 'stunt' to get out of cricket scam
9/3/2018 10:54:56 PM

Early Times Report
jammu, Sept 3: A senior Kashmiri-politician and patron of a regional party has been trying every "stunt" for the past few months to get himself out of the noose that hangs around his neck in connection with a infamous cricket scam in the state.
From repeatedly chanting pro-India slogans to changing his stand of supporter for Hurriyat and the stone pelters, he is doing everything possible to get out of the case, which may land him in jail.
Sources said the neta is of the opinion that by trying to appease the government in New Delhi he could "end up safe in the case."
In the latest the politician has said his party was ready to the Panchayat polls, though his party in general has been telling otherwise to the media.
Sources said some of the senior party leaders have decided to contact this patron to know his motives. "He has been making fool of the entire party through his foolish stunts to get out of the scam. When the party is not formally ready for Panchayat polls, how can he speak so," said a senior leader of the party, on the condition of anonymity.
The neta looks like a changed man since he was chargesheeted in a cricket scam earlier this year. Otherwise he had become infamous for "anti-India stand and support for stone pelters in particular."
The CBI has already filed a charge sheet against four persons in the multi-crore cricket scam. All the accused have been charged with the offences 420 RPC (cheating and dishonestly), 409 RPC (criminal breach of trust) and 120B RPC (criminal conspiracy).
The multi-crore scam surfaced in 2012 and the CBI took over the investigation of the case from the state police in 2015 under orders of the High Court.
Despite repeated attempts the politician couldn't be contacted for comments.
But a senior leader from his party said the matter was being discussed that if the politician was resorting to "stunts of political appeasement."
