9/8/2018 8:36:01 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 8: The Youth Action Committee for Playground that has been struggling for the last 40 days for the playground near Park between Bhour Camp and Indira Nagar convinced the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and Director Department of Floriculture to come on the spot for the assessment of the land to be earmarked for the playground.
The committee had earlier met with the Advisor (G) and informed him of the popular demand of 100 Kanals for the playground as there is no facility of Playground for the vast area lying between Satwari and R.S.Pura.
The Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Ramesh Kumar, along with the Dy Director, Department of Floriculture visited the ground and listened to the youth as to what portion of the ground they want and also took stock of the requirement as expressed by the Dy Director, Floriculture Department.
The locals have demanded that at least 100 Kanals of the front portion of the land near entry to the ground be spared for the playground as the infrastructure built by the Department of Floriculture lies at the back and hence suitable for use by the department for various developments.
The delegation of the locals comprised of around 200 youths from all the eight Panchayats, Sarpanches of the adjoining panchayats including Gurmeet Kour from Panchayat Chatha Pind, Amrit Bali from Bhour camp Panchayat, Vijay Sharma from Rakh Gadigarh, Pawan Raina from Kharian Panchayat and Comrade Kishore Kumar from Maralia Panchayat. The Deputy Commissioner has directed the concerned Tehsildar for preparing the ground level report and submit the same by today evening. The DC has assured the youth that their genuine demand for playground shall be positively addressed shortly.
