Poonch, Sept 8: "Will fight to protect Article till last breath", this was stated by NC Provincial President Ajaz Jan, while paying tributes to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on his 36th death anniversary, here today.
A large number of party workers from across Poonch participated in this meet and paid rich tributes to Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah terming him as a man who proved his identity as the lion of state.
Provincal president youth national conference Ajaz Jan, said that the special status of J&K is enshrined in the Constitution and it cannot be tampered with or removed.
While addressing workers on 36th death anniversary Jan said, "The special status of J&K is enshrined in the Constitution and it cannot be tampered with or removed. It is an article of faith. All of us will and shall fight until death to protect Article 35A." They highlighted his pro-people decision in state and said that under the command of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, reforms were seen in state.
Addressing in this, Provincial President of YNC, Ajaz Jan said that Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was not a leader of NC but he was leader of state and will be remembered always for his devotion towards welfare of state.
Jan also said that decision taken by party to boycott state municipal and panchayat polls is need of hour as on one said, situation in state is not even this much condusive that Government holds elections in one lok sabha segment of valley and now they are talking about to hold polls of local bodies and panchayats across the state which can further make the situation volatile. He said that Government should put in sincere efforts to streamline the state and to restore normalcy and then to think of holding polls after consulting all the political stake holders. He also said that the special status of state is enshrined in the constitution and cannot be tampered or removed.
