NMC appeals Governor to speed up regularization process of daily workers

JAMMU, Sept 8: President of the National Mazdoor Conference(NMC) Subash Shastri appealed to the state Governor to suitably direct the concerned to speed up the process of regularization of sixty one thousand daily rated workers working in the various departments of the state Govt. and remove the shortcoming in SRO 520.
As per press statement issued here, he said that these daily rated workers had nursed high hopes but the cumbersome procedures and process involved in verification of engagement oof these daily rated workers is rendering the well intentioned scheme to naught.
He however praised governor Satya Pal Malik for making a paradigm shift to treat issues on humanitarian grounds. He said that recent actions by governor reflect a human angle for solving problems and hoped that under governor's regime, heads of departments will given power to regularize the services of these daily rated workers in one go.
He further said that so far less than five hundred daily rated workers case for regularization have set in motion, under SRO 520." By these standards it will take decades for the government to implement the process of regularization. He also hoped that the Governor will look in to this matter sympathetically and issue same order in releasing 7th pay commission arrears to the state pensioners in one installment, as this order has already been released for the age group of 80 years pensioners by the State Govt. some days ago.
He also demanded for early an enhancing of medical allowance to rupees one thousand on the pattern of central Govt. pensioners to the State pensioners releasing of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in the various departments of the State Govt. issuance of regularization order of 180 daily wagers workers working in rural development department of Jammu region beside, total exemption of DA from income tax slab and increasing the wages of daily rated workers to Rs. 500/- per day etc.
Among others who were also present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S. Jamwal, Darshan Bawa, Madan Lal, Sukhdev Singh, Suraj Parkash, Ram Singh, Surinder Kumar, Jai Pal Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Ramesh Sharma and others.
