| BJP true inheritor of British divide & rule policy: Bhardwaj | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 9: Senior Congress leader Mohinder Bhardwaj has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is presenting a glaring model of "divide and rule" and has proved beyond any doubt that they are the true followers of this British legacy even in independent India.
"What could be more sinister, reprehensible and condemnable than a self-professed patriotic political party and its "desh bhakt" leaders nakedly pursuing a British policy to divide the country on communal, caste, sub-caste and religion lines and that too to divert attention from its governments, at the Centre and in majority of the states, failure on all fronts particularly to control prices" he thundered while addressing an impressive public meeting here on Sunday. He was addressing the gathering in preparation for Congress' "Bharat Bandh" call on Monday to protest against the continuous rise in petrol and diesel prices and related inflationary trends hitting the common person hard.
"Would you not like to listen the mellifluous voice of Prime Minister Modi and the thunder of his 56 inch on as to why he has failed to control prices and that why the rupee has touched the lowest value in comparison to US dollar?, he asked the people.
Bhardwaj appealed to the people to register strong protest and make the "Bharat Bandh" a success and deliver a strong message to the Modi regime to get ready for a pack up.
Describing Congress as the only party which equally respects all religions and caste groups and are committed to their welfare, Bhardwaj expressed shock that BJP leaders have the gumption to question the commitments and faith of the Congress president Rahul Gandhi. " Fact of the matter is that his Kailash Mansrovar pilgrimage, though a very personal in nature and apolitical, has unnerved the BJP leaders leading to a sense of guilt among them of having been using Hindu dharma for their narrow political gains," he said. |
