Natrang stages Hindi play "Naye Mehmaan"
9/9/2018 10:44:41 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 9: Natrang today presented a new Hindi play 'Naye Mehmaan' in its Sunday theatre series.
The play is written by Udhay Shanker Bhat and was directed by Neeraj Kant. Natrang also celebrated the birth anniversary of Bhartendu Harishchandra, popularly known as the father of modern Hindi literature as well as Hindi theatre.
Today's performance presented a peculiar situation of a household situated at a dense township. In a summer evening, when the weather is hot, humid and unbearable, a low-middle class family finds it very difficult to survive in the absence of proper accommodation and resources.
This was very brilliantly portrayed by the playwright. Drenched in sweat, suffocated by the atmosphere, unable to muster the help of the neighbours during this tough time, couple discusses all the possible difficulties which they are facing in the peak of summers. Suddenly with the entry of unknown and uninvited guests, their worries got elevated manifolds.
The unknown guests, who claim to be very close, demand unparallel hospitality which is impossible for the hosts to offer. After getting bullied for some time, the couple asks for their proper identity and it was revealed that the guests have mistakenly entered into their home and they belong to some other hosts residing at a nearby lane. The situational comedy was very interestingly presented which tickled till the climax.
Natrang actors who acted in the play included Shivam Singh, Vaishali Sharma, Sushant Singh Charak, Nisha, Aarti Devi, Sheetal Jadhan, Ujhwal Bandral, Sanket and Aafaque Khan. The lights of the play were executed by Neeraj Kant whereas Manoj Kumar Lalotra rendered the music of the play. The show was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen and the presentations were done by Zeeshan Haider.
