DGP chairs Darbar at Jammu; compliments police personnel

JAMMU, Sept 17: On his maiden visit to the Jammu after taking over as the Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh, chaired a darbar of the police personnel at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu. The darbar was attended by IGP Jammu Dr S.D Singh Jamwal, IGP Armed Danesh Rana, DIG JSK Range Bhim Sen Tuti, SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta and Commandants of armed/IR battalions, Zonal heads and SPs of different wings.
On the very outset the DGP complimented the Jammu police for successful operation at Kakriyal and added that by this clean operation with no fatal injury the achievement graph of Jammu police has gone further up. He said that the response to the emerging situation was very quick and adequate. DGP said that the police have the twin responsibility of being custodian and well as maintainer of the peace and we are premier stake holders in peace.
Thanking the Governor for increasing the ex-gratia relief, the DGP said that we have great expectations and have projected the needs and requirements before the government. We are hopeful that they will also be looked into sympathetically.
In view of the Municipal Elections, the DGP directed the officers and jawans to be fully prepared for a peaceful and smooth election.
He assured that their requirements will be looked into sympathetically.
Earlier, Dilbag Singh while presenting cash reward of Rs 1lakh, thanked the people of the Kakriyal for cooperating with the police and security forces during the encounter.
He assured all possible help to the family whose house got damaged in this encounter.
The DGP also rewarded the officers and the jawans who took part in this operation.
