REASI, Sept 25: The students studying at Government High School Dadva in Pouni here are allegedly forced to labor by the school staff.
The schoolchildren and their parents complained that instead of imparting proper education, the school staff makes the kids do labor including lifting of boulders.
"The schoolchildren most of whom come from poor families, are also regularly made to clean the school premises and once the process is complete they are made to carry the dustbin out to dump the trash outside," the locals said. The schoolchildren confirmed the same adding that their precious time goes waste.
The parents said despite filing of numerous complaints the "school staff was not mending its ways."
When contacted the concerned Zonal Education Officer said the matter had come to his notice but that he was helpless. "Contact my superiors," the ZEO told Early Times. |
