J&K Grameen Bank conducts 167 Swachhta Hi Sewa programmes

JAMMU/ Srinagar, Sept 25: In order to mark the participation in 4th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department of J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural and in collaboration with NABARD has conducted 167 Swachhata Hi Sewa programmes across the state in various villages of the districts including Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, Samba, Bandipora, Baramulla, Leh, Kargil and Kupwara.
Janak Raj Angural, Chairman J&K Grameen Bank expressed his appreciation towards the staff who is conducting the campaign with great zeal and enthusiasm in order to make the GOI mission a great success. He assured that J&K Grameen bank will contribute to its maximum possible extend to spread the awareness regarding sanitation and hygiene and to make the environment clean and green.
Romesh Vaid, General Manager J&K Grameen Bank said that environmental cleanliness begins with each individual desire to be clean so emphasized to entire workforce of the bank to actively join the cleanliness mission. He added that our 167 branches and offices have conducted camps in last four days and today 30 branches and offices have conducted the Swachhta Hi Sewa Programmes across the state out of which 8 programmes were conducted in district Jammu by branch offices Chowki Chowra, Digiana, Jandrah, Kaluchak, Kheri, Maira & Malik Market, 12 programmes were conducted in district Baramulla by Branch Offices Sheerpora, Wailukralpora, Azadgunj, Jadeed, Kachumuqam, Kakkarhamam, Khanpora, Authoora, Pringal, Rohama, Sangrama and Sheeri, 3 programmes were conducted in Kupwara by branch offices Poshwan , Handwara and Regional Office Kupwara, 3 programmes were conducted in district Samba by branch offices Gurah Slathia, Purmandal & Swankha Morh , 2 programmes were conducted in district Poonch by branch offices Jhulas and Mankote and 1 programme was conducted in district Rajouri and Kathua by branch offices by branch offices Rajouri & Marta Nagrota respectively.
Vipan Gupta, HOD, Financial Inclusion and insurance Department, J&K Grameen Bank, said that the every branch of J&K Grameen bank is conducting Swachhta Hi Sewa Programme in their respective villages from 15th September 2018 to 2nd October 2018 in which they are spreading awareness regarding the importance of clean environment and the various ways by which the surroundings can be kept clean and green. The rural masses are imparted knowledge regarding better sanitation practices like using a toilet, handwashing, health and hygiene awareness etc. The activities including cleaning of streets, drains and back alleys and waste collection drives in households and common or shared spaces are also conducted during the programmes.
