| Anjuman Imamia condemns abrogation of Sec 377 | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14: Anjuman e Imamia Wazarat road Jammu has condemned the abrogation of section 377 and section 497 IPC by Supreme Court of India and the statement of Wasim Rizvi (Chairman Shia Waqf Board U.P.).
While addressing the media Syed Afaq Kazmi Vice President Anjuman e Imamia Jammu said that the abrogation of 377 is like challenging the law of nature and despite the fact that India has a rich cultural and traditional heritage yet no one has come from from any section of society to condemn this act.
"We strongly condemn this decision and appeal to Govt that interfere in this matter and Supreme Court should once again think about this decision", they said.
Showqat Gujjar President of JK Gujjar Federation while addressing the conference said that abrogation of section 497 is something really not acceptable in our society. He further added that why our judiciary is passing these kinds of judgements. We are not European Society, no doubt women should be given equal rights but this is something which is unacceptable. |
