Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 14: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) while hailing Indian leadership for attaining top position in United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) has pointed out about the violation of human rights of internally displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
Kundan Kashmiri, President KPC in a meeting at New Delhi congratulated the nation for becoming world leader in UNHRC for protecting human rights, but questioned when will the human rights of victim KP community will be restored, how long this landless community has to live as refugees in their own country which has been hounded out from their homes and hearths in the valley after becoming victim of Islamic persecution, encroached and snatched their land and property under distress sale, brutally killed cream of the community, looted and burnt their houses and religious places, taken away their actual right of franchise and steadfastly loosing its identity.
KPC president said that KPs want to know how long they have to wait, to be ignored, isolated and to be away from their basic rights and when they will be given right to live as per their choice as free citizen of Indian nation. He said, so far neither NGOs nor national and international human rights' organizations or judiciary as well as government has taken serious view of KP community's human right violations.
